and mulberry papers

What to do:
- Choose two background colours. One will be used for
the matting and the other for the collage.
- Use scraps of complimentary colours to your background
card to make the collage. When choosing your scraps, make
sure there are a variety of sizes, paper types and some
torn and some cut.
- Glue scraps on to background sheet allowing some to
overlap and others to be placed individually. If using
vellum and mulberry paper ensure it goes on the top layer.
Do not make the collage too thick, as it will be difficult
to cut/punch.
- Allow the collage to dry briefly whilst preparing the
stamping and embossing tools.
- Choose a stamp that matches with the theme of your page/card
or a simple plain design that will show through the collage.
Stamp the design randomly over the collage, embossing
each one as you go. Metallic embossing powders show up
best in this kind of work, however, any coordinating colour
is suitable.
- Heat the embossing powder to set it and leave for a
few minutes again to allow the collage to complete drying.
- Using either two sizes of square punch or a pencil and
ruler, mark off your square.
- a. If using the ruler, mark on the back of the collage
cardstock and cut with trimmer, scissors or ruler and
craft knife to the desired size.
b. If using the punches, punch using the punch upside
down on the table and leaning your body weight into the
punch. Use the smaller of the two punches to punch out
the collage and the larger to punch out the mats.
- Mat the collage squares onto the mat squares using
double-sided adhesive tape.

On one or perhaps two of the squares add a charm or wooden embellishment
eg a button. using either glue or by sewing it on with embroidery
thread.
