CORRESPONDENCE TO: Woodworking & Craft Expo 23 Tulloch Ave. Maryland NSW 2287
On behalf of the Woodturners of the Hunter Co-op Ltd. We would like to invite everyone to the 2005 Hunter United Woodworking & Craft Expo. This, our tenth Expo, will once again bring the biggest and best range of products, services and exhibitors under one roof. The NEWCASTLE ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE , it is a great location and is situated at Brown Road, Broadmeadow,NSW opposite the Broadmeadow railway station, with even more space allocated to cater for over 270 exhibitors from last year's event as well as many new site-holders.
The 2005 Hunter United Woodworking & Craft Expo will be staged from Friday August 12th to Sunday August 14th. With over 10,000 visitors to the 2004 Expo and more than $57,000 raised for the John Hunter Children's Hospital Kids Club we are confident that with a variety of exhibits, the excellent all-weather venue, the tiny entry fee and the generous support from local media we can expect even greater success this year. Once again, funds raised through the Expo will be donated to the John Hunter Children's Hospital Kids Club ensuring money raised by the people of our region goes to benefit the children of our region.
Last year's helped the Hospital purchase much needed life saving equipment for the Paediatric Emergency Unit... but more help is needed. We hope, with your support, and the support of, the public, to raise an even greater sum this year as people from around the region, and beyond, congregate to enjoy a great family day and 'support the kids of the Hunter and Northern regions of NSW.
This year's Expo will feature; craft workshops, woodturning - with demonstrations as well as hand crafted products for sale; exotic, reclaimed forest timbers for sale; recycled timber furniture and homewares; a huge range of woodworking and craft tools demonstrations and sales; leadlighting; lapidary; glassblowing; quilting; folk art; tapestry; needlecraft; china painting; decoupage; spinning; doll making; patchwork iron work; floral art; pottery and much more.
Since the inaugural Wood Working & Craft Expo in 1996 over $385,000 has been raised for the John Hunter Children's Hospital. This event attracts over 270 exhibitors from all over Australia keen to expose their wares. The Woodworking & Craft Expo has grown to become a well respected, national event of the highest standard, providing an affordable medium for retailers and guilds to exhibit, demonstrate and sell their products, whilst maintaining it's mission to help the sick kids of the Hunter.
A beautiful, handcrafted grandfather clock valued at $6,000 will be raffled over the three-day event.
A Lucky Door Prize will be awarded to one lucky Expo customer; all customers through the gates will receive a ticket.
"Cafe d'art" will once again provide visitors with a chance to relax with a coffee and watch artists at work. Full catering facilities will be on as well as hassle-free parking and easy, ground level access.
